The Piazzolla Caffe & Bar, partly owned by accordionist Joao Gentil, is soon to open in the Portuguese coastal city of Cantanhede. The following commentary sets the scene:“In the European history, small cafès sometimes played a huge role. For example, at a Parisien cafe Rotonda at the beginning of the 20th Century, world-famous writers, poets, and painters (Picasso was one of them) discussed their ideas, made some drafts, and found sources of inspiration.Piazzolla Caffè & Bar in Cantanhede, Portugal is going to be the place for those who love Piazzola's immortal music. It will feature music by a European celebrity - accordionist Joao Gentil, whose passionate performance of Piazzolla's compositions wins hearts throughout the world. And - who knows? - maybe that cafe will become Rotonda of 21 century?!”
